I consider my life to be nothing short of a miracle. Considering the kind of life I live now, I am grateful to the Lord for bringing me this far. The privileges I have received since I connected with CRF can only be described as miraculous.
My name is Patrick Kosgei, and I come from a humble background. Like any child raised in a challenging home environment, envisioning a great future for myself was not an option at the time. Being raised by a single mother who was also a drunkard, you can imagine the difficult circumstances I faced. My siblings and I struggled tremendously, even taking on menial jobs to collect school fees when we were sent home from school. Despite being burdened with adult responsibilities at a young age, I am grateful for the valuable life lessons I learned during that time.
I found solace in 2011 when CRF started sponsoring my high school education. During my four years at Suzy Peacock High School, I embarked on a path of hope, resilience, and personal growth. I had all the opportunities to rectify my past and strive for a better future. When I also received the chance to be sponsored through college at the Great Commission School, I was given the opportunity to heal and embark on a journey to help others.
Today, I am a chaplain at Suzy Peacock and a proud member of God’s family. As a minister of the word, bringing hope and healing to broken hearts has become my mission. Working closely with secondary school students has given me the opportunity to inspire hope through my own past experiences. Every day, I meet students who come from broken homes, much like my own in the past. It is always exhilarating to witness their lives transform for the better after going through the guidance and counseling that I spearhead as the chaplain. Many students have given their lives to Jesus, and I find joy in knowing that I have influenced many to embrace hope for a brighter future, despite the challenges they face.
I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Milton Jones and Dr. Francis Bii for giving me the chance to redirect the course of my life. Thank you, CRF, for providing me and countless other students in Kenya with the opportunity to experience a life full of God’s miracles. You have not only repaired our broken relationships but have also given us a family that supports us unconditionally. We will forever be grateful.
